Feel a Feeling by Choice
Generating States of Being

Feelfulness offers a roadmap for self-directed emotional transformation. It bridges the gap between cognitive understanding and embodied emotional experience, allowing individuals to master their internal states.

By combining neuroscience’s insights into neuroplasticity and emotion with the deliberate practice of Feelfulness, individuals gain control over their mental /emotional well-being.

Feelfulness is a practical application of the brain’s natural ability to adapt and grow. It underscores that emotional change is not just a possibility—it is a skill anyone can learn, practice, and embody.

“We should not pretend to understand the world only by the intellect; we apprehend it just as much by feeling.”
― Carl Jung

FOUNDATION OF FEELFULNESS

DEFINITION

Feelfulness is a transformative practice that involves intentionally experiencing specific feelings or positive emotions through the power of conscious choice. It takes mindfulness to greater heights by harnessing the potential of neuroplasticity to foster lasting transformation.

Feelfulness as a skill is designed to help you master the art of Generating States of Being, enabling them to embody a presence that transcends words. By mastering this skill, you can create profound shifts in your lives and those around you, elevating yourself and others to higher levels of well-being.

Some of the procedures are inspired by a common elements from ancient traditions such as alchemy, and shamanism: shifting of one’s state of consciousness, which always involves the intentional shifting of one’s State of Being.

THE SELF

THE Self is the archetype of wholeness or transcendence.

Carl Jung states: "So what is the Self? It is a center or wholeness that consists not only, like consciousness, of the conscious psyche, but of both the conscious and unconscious parts of the psyche together. This Self also comprises what we are but do not know we are."

Psychological development in all its phases is a redemptive process. The goal is to redeem by conscious realization, the hidden Self, hidden in unconscious identification with the ego.

The Self, from a Jungian sense, is both personal and impersonal. It includes both the ego and one’s inner divinity. Arriving at the Self represents the final stage of Jung’s individuation process.

FOUNDATION

A person’s manner of thinking, feeling, and acting is defined by their unique personality traits; these traits are a blend of genetic and environmental influences, and go through changes as the person is exposed to new experiences and gains understanding of their thinking, feeling, and acting.

With purposefully crafted experiences with Feelfulness’ practices, you can develop or modify your existing personality traits.

This is achieved through the use of distinctive language constructs comprised of evocators, movers, and descriptors arranged in triplicate structures.

Evocative words and phrases stimulate an emotional response - strongly positive or negative reactions- beyond their literal meaning because they are vague, and everyone has a subjective experience of what the words means to them.

These language constructs as word triangles help create /modify /generate a state and through repetition -neuroplasticity - help create a more permanent ability to enter a feelful state at will.

PRINCIPLES

  1. CONSCIOUS CHOICE: At the core of Feelfulness is the principle of conscious choice. Individuals have the ability to deliberately select and cultivate specific feelings or emotions, empowering them to shape their internal states and ultimately their overall well-being.
  2. LINGUISTIC ELEMENTS: Feelfulness employs unique linguistic elements such as evocators, movers, and descriptors arranged in triplicates. These linguistic patterns serve as powerful tools to evoke and amplify chosen feelings, creating a heightened sense of emotional experience.
  3. NEUROPLASTICITY: Feelfulness is grounded in the principle of neuroplasticity, which refers to the brain's remarkable capacity to rewire and adapt in response to new experiences. By engaging in Feelfulness practices, individuals can create new neural pathways, rewiring their brains to support the cultivation of desired emotional states.
  4. INTENTIONAL SHIFT: Feelfulness draws inspiration from mindfulness and spiritual systems such as alchemy and shamanism, where intentional state shifting is central to personal transformation. By consciously shifting one's state of consciousness, individuals can explore and expand their emotional repertoire, fostering personal growth and self-awareness.
  5. EMBODIED PRESENCE: Feelfulness goes beyond traditional mindfulness practices, and it remains rooted in the principles of embodied presence. By cultivating a non-judgmental awareness of the present moment, individuals can deepen their connection with their chosen feelings and emotions, enhancing the richness of their experiences.
  6. PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION: Feelfulness is a practice that aims to facilitate not only personal transformation but generate states of being. By consistently engaging in Feelfulness techniques, individuals can develop greater emotional intelligence and shape their personalities, leading to a more authentic self.
  7. INTEGRATION AND APPLICATION: Feelfulness encourages the integration and application of cultivated states of being into daily life. By embodying chosen feelings and emotions, individuals can align their actions, thoughts, and behaviors with their desired states, creating a more harmonious and purposeful existence.

Because ideas cannot be impressed on the subconscious until they are felt, be it good, bad, or indifferent, the feeling is the only mechanism through which ideas (thoughts) are delivered to your subconscious (feelings). Whatever the conscious can think as true, the subconscious will express it as feeling.

What is Feelfulness

Feelfulness - Feel a Feeling by Choice - employs methods where you experience a feeling (emotion) in anticipation by using unique linguistic elements such as evocators, movers, and descriptors arranged in triplicates, to evoke an experience in which you learn to generate a state of being.

Feelfulness takes the concept of mindfulness to even greater depths by compelling you to become your chosen thought-feelings, cultivating a positive psychological state and developing new or modifying existing personality traits, all made possible by the incredible power of neuroplasticity.

Through this process, entering the Flow State becomes second nature for you.

Why? Because your thoughts and feelings affect who you become and what you achieve: when you gain the power to change them, you gain the power to change your circumstances, your health, and your life’s purpose; you gain the power to choose.

So, the question is: HOW do you wish to experience the world?

How is Feelfulness different than Mindfulness?

Feelfulness takes mindfulness to greater highs by introducing more structured techniques that help you choose and re-direct your feelings on purpose. It's about being aware of your thoughts and feelings and using specific strategies to shift your emotional state to something more positive or helpful.

This approach uses exercises to improve how you observe and respond to different environments, making it easier for you to master your presence and to improve your overall well-being. It's like learning to tune an instrument—Feelfulness helps you fine-tune your responses to play the music of life the way you want to hear it.

Feelfulness introduces more structured techniques for actively shaping your emotional and mental state with the Feel a Feeling by Choice skillset, using language constructs in the form of Word Triangles and with Thought-Feeling practices learning how to Generate a State of Being for therapeutic purposes and mastery.

Feelfulness was coined in 2001 and introduced as a transformative practice by Carmen Sauciuc.

These innovative techniques position Feelfulness as a tool for accelerated personal development, emphasizing its use for elevating emotional intelligence and more importantly functioning as a therapeutic tool.

Why Feel a Feeling by Choice?

You can choose to feel a feeling by choice, empowering yourself to unleash the immense power within. By cultivating special awareness and intentional focus, you can tap into the transformative force of your subconscious, paving the way for profound transformation.

Because deep within you lies the powerful realm of the feeling mind, the true essence of your subconscious mind which holds the key to shaping your experiences.

With Feelfulness® you gain the ability to navigate this inner landscape consciously.

With Feelfulness®, you embrace the extraordinary capacity to shape your emotional reality and create fulfilling experiences on your terms. How would you like to feel?

How Was Feelfulness Developed?

Feelfulness’ methodology is grounded in the concept of Neuroplasticity, the brain's capacity to re-wire and adapt in reaction to new experiences and stimuli; some procedures are inspired by a common element from spiritual systems such as inner-alchemy, and shamanism: shifting of one’s state of consciousness, which always involved the intentional shifting of one’s state of being.

Traditionally this process is facilitated through a wide range of activities such as mindfulness practices, meditations, and other forms of cognitive therapy, but feelfulness takes these practices to greater heights through the brain’s ability -neuroplasticity- to groove new neural pathways, enabling you to regulate your and even develop new traits.

What is a State of Being?

While a state of "being" and a state of "mind" are related, they are not the same thing. A person's state of being can influence their state of mind, and vice versa, but they are distinct concepts.

The verb to be is an example of a state, verb which relates to the state of being.

In other words, if you ARE, then you are in the state of being. If something EXISTS, it is in the state of being too.

"To be" is the primary state-of-being verb:

"Jane is a mother."

"Ron was sick."

"Tim is dead."

"Cory is intelligent."

The subject is renamed by a predicate nominative (mother) or a predicate adjective (intelligent).

You CAN control your state of being. When you choose which state of being you’d like to experience, you’ll be able to determine and direct your outcome.

Feelfulness provides the tools for exactly that.

State vs Trait

In Mindfulness, a "State of Mind" refers to a temporary condition where you are aware of your thoughts and feelings and able to stay present when distractions arise.

In Feelfulness,  "Trait" or "BE" that trait developed through Generate a State of Being, becomes a permanent part of who you are,  consistently embodying, rather than just observing it in yourself from time to time.

For example, if confident and smart are the traits, through various experienced practices, you can develop the ability to consistently exhibit confidence and intelligence. This means that instead of just "seeing" yourself as confident and intelligent, you actually become a confident and intelligent person.

This is a big deal.

Why Generate a State of Being?

Crafting the ability to generate a state of being and then making it available (provide it) to those around, is an invaluable skill to possess.

Having the capability to make this “feeling” accessible to patients, clients, students, and loved ones gives you a true advantage for healthy influence and motivation.

It has a tremendous impact on the whole world and is a highly desirable accomplishment for yourself.

Most importantly, feelfulness transitions you from a binary mindset to a dynamic, multifaceted state of being.

For example to transition from the dual state of confident vs doubtful, you are encouraged to utilize both facets of this dual state by adding a new perspective: doubt the old perceived limitations and consider recognizing current strengths which enables you to feel -not just think- but truly feel the inner confidence which opens up a world of possibilities that extends far beyond you current perceptions.

Further more, this enables you to acquire a balanced state of assurance as opposed to to a state of uncertainty.

What is the difference between Feelings vs Emotions?

Feelings are the perceptions of physiological changes, whereas emotions are mental images, representing internal or external states of reality.

Emotional experience is believed to be subjective, varying in intensity and quality depending on factors such as your personality, cultural norms, and situational context.

Feelfulness is a powerful tool that you can use to gain greater control over your thoughts, feelings and emotions. This leads to an overall improved state of being, allowing you to be more feelful with your positive feelings, become better equipped to manage difficult emotions, and more be confident in your ability to grow and develop through this incredible power of neuroplasticity.

Your manner of thinking, feeling, and acting is defined by your unique personality traits; these traits are a blend of genetic and environmental influences, and go through changes as you are exposed to new experiences.

Thus, through purposefully crafted experiences you can develop (or modify existing personality traits) for example, an individual who is naturally introverted may develop more extroverted traits and an individual who is more deceitful can develop more honesty traits.

You achieve this through the use of distinctive language constructs comprised of evocators, movers, and descriptors arranged in triplicate structures.

Evocative words and phrases stimulate you emotional response - strongly positive or negative reactions- beyond their literal meaning because they are vague, and everyone has a subjective experience of what the words means to them.

These language constructs as word triangles help you create /modify /generate a state and through repetition (thought-feeling practices) help you create a more permanent ability to enter a feelful state at will.  This is mastery!

Merging Neuroplasticity with Inner Alchemy

Neuroplasticity – or brain plasticity – is the ability of the brain to modify its connections or re-wire itself. Without this ability, any brain, not just the human brain, would be unable to develop from infancy through to adulthood or to recover from brain injury.

Feelfulness’ methodology is grounded in the concept of Neuroplasticity, the brain's capacity to re-wire and adapt in reaction to new experiences and stimuli; some procedures are inspired by a common element from spiritual systems such as alchemy, and shamanism: shifting of one’s state of consciousness, which always involved the intentional shifting of one’s state of being.

Traditionally this process is facilitated through a wide range of activities such as mindfulness practices, meditations, and other forms of cognitive therapy, yet feelfulness takes these practices to greater heights teaching you how to regulate your emotions therefore increase your intelligence.

Feelfulness was coined in 2001 and introduced as transformative practice by Carmen Sauciuc.

Neuroplasticity

Neuroplasticity and inner alchemy are concepts from very different disciplines, but they share a thematic connection in how they relate to transformation and adaptation.

  1. Scientific Basis: Neuroplasticity is a neuroscience concept, grounded in the physical and biological sciences. It refers to the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. This capacity allows the brain to recover from injuries, adapt to new situations, or learn new information.
  2. Mechanism: The changes in neural pathways and synapses are often the result of learning, experience, or as a response to environmental demands.
  3. Observable Changes: The changes brought about by neuroplasticity can often be measured or observed through various scientific methods, such as brain imaging technologies.

Inner Alchemy

Carl Jung's perspective on inner alchemy transforms it from a purely mystical or spiritual practice into a psychological process. Here’s how Jungian inner alchemy differs and aligns with the original concept:

  1. Psychological Integration: Jung interpreted inner alchemy as a process of individuation, where an individual integrates different aspects of their personality to achieve a whole, balanced self. This includes reconciling the conscious with the unconscious parts of the psyche.
  2. Transformation of the Self: The goal of Jungian inner alchemy is not the transmutation of physical substances, but the transformation and development of the psyche. This involves personal growth, self-realization, and achieving a deeper understanding of one's self and one’s place in the cosmos.
  3. Stages of Development: Similar to the stages in traditional alchemy (nigredo, albedo, rubedo), Jung described stages in psychological development and healing that individuals go through in the process of individuation. Each stage represents a phase of encountering and integrating different elements of the psyche.

The five sequential components of Feelfulness processes are:

1. Awareness: This component pertains to a person's capacity to observe the factual environment, thoughts, and emotions without judgement.

2. Thought: This component refers to an individual becoming aware and recognizing their thoughts and/or string of thoughts.

3. Attention: The third element focuses on an individual's capability to remain attentive and aware of their thoughts and emotions, in the present moment, while disregarding or bypassing potential distractions.

4. Choice: The fourth component refers to an individual’s capacity to choose the thoughts (the most suitable cognitive frameworks ) most optimal for the present context.

5. Action: The last component involves implementing the choice from the fourth component, believing positive thoughts and generating the feeling /emotions associated with those thoughts, cultivating the most advantageous mindset, and generating the corresponding emotional state for the most effective outcome: a feel good state.

Cultivating the ability to generate a state of being and then making it available (provide it) to those around, is an incredible skill to possess.

Having the capability to make this “feeling” accessible to patients, clients, students, and loved ones gives and individual a true advantage for uplifting and healthy influence and motivation.

It has a tremendous impact on the whole world and is a highly desirable accomplishment.

Generating States of Being

The fulfilment you seek in life is actually the authentic self and understanding your authentic self involves developing a complex and dynamic mindset that enables you to view yourself as a multifaceted and constantly evolving individual. This approach allows you to recognize that your personality and behaviors are not fixed, but rather are shaped by a variety of internal and external factors, including your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and social context.

To develop a complex and dynamic mindset, it's important to start by recognizing that your thoughts and emotions are not always an accurate reflections of reality. Instead, they are often influenced by cognitive biases, past experiences, and social conditioning. This means that the way you perceive yourself and the world around you may not always be objective or accurate.

Another important aspect of developing a complex and dynamic mindset is recognizing that your sense of self is not fixed, but rather can evolve over time. This means being open to challenge and revise your beliefs and assumptions as you grow and develop being open to new experiences, perspectives, and ideas.

By developing a complex and dynamic mindset, you can gain a deeper understanding of your authentic self and cultivate a greater sense of self-awareness and self-acceptance. This can help you live a more fulfilling and meaningful life, as you are better able to align your actions and behaviors with your values and goals.

Word Triangles

Researchers discovered that sentences with unusual grammar or unexpected meaning activate the brain's language processing centers more than straightforward or nonsensical sentences, because Complex Sentences Fire Up Brain’s Language Centers

They used an artificial language network to identify sentences that drove and suppressed brain activity, finding that linguistic complexity and surprisal were key factors.

Sentences requiring cognitive effort to decipher, such as those with unusual grammar or meaning, evoked the highest brain responses. The study offers insights into how the brain processes language and has potential applications in understanding higher-level cognition.

 Key Facts:
1. MIT researchers used an artificial language network and functional MRI to study the brain’s language processing regions’ responses to different sentences.

2. Sentences with linguistic complexity and surprisal, requiring cognitive effort, activated the language centers more strongly.

3. The study’s findings can help improve our understanding of how the brain processes language and may have broader implications for cognitive research.

How do Word / Mind Triangles work?

The basic idea of a mind triangle is that it consists of three points, each representing a different aspect of an individual's experience: thoughts, feelings, and behavior.

When you experience a distressing thought or emotion, you often get caught up in it and view it as an absolute truth, this leads to a binary mindset where you feel like you have only two options: 1. to believe the thought or emotion or 2. to push them away.  However, this binary mindset can be limiting and may not allow for a more nuanced understanding of your experience.

For example, if you are experiencing the distressing thought and emotion "I am a failure," you might initially feel trapped in this thought and emotion and see it as an absolute truth.

However, using a mind triangle, you learn to view this thought as just one aspect of your experience; then you notice that it is the thought that makes you feel anxious and depressed, which in turn leads you to avoid situations where you might fail.

By examining all the three points of the word /mind triangle, you begin to see this one thought is not resourceful and that you have other options besides believing it or avoiding situations or experiences where you think you might fail.

With the word /mind triangles as a powerful tool for cognitive defusion, you begin to develop a more complex and nuanced understanding of your experience, rather than getting stuck in the binary experience.

Feeling "stuck" then creates the experience of being a failure simply out of "thin air," only it is not "thin air."

Are you a failure? No, you're not!

1. Develop the Advanced Observer in Simultaneous Time

The ability to observe with intent and focus is a skill that involves picking up on subtle patterns that affect the bigger picture.  With my unique attentional observation skills, you will be able to:  identify trends, adjust to changing conditions, and quickly asses areas for improvement. Attentional observation skills are an invaluable tool for achieving success, helping you  observe opponents, gain insights into their tactics so you sharpen your tools.

1. Feel a Feeling by Choice

Increasing Awareness we already know how to do.  But Feeling a Feeling by Choice when we need to Change an emotion that does not lead to a fulfilled life, is a completely different Skill-Set.

Is is the next level.
Not only will you learn to ensure you are never "over-run" by emotions but you will learn hoe to GENERATE a FEELING that will lead to an Emotion.

3. Generate States of Being

Effortlessly Generating a State of Being for your clients begins  with mastering Generating a Feeling that Leads to a State, having a clear discernment over the similarities and differences over the emoti-flavors between various states of being (not just state of mind).

Once mastered, your generated state become a Therapeutic State of Being which can be made available or gifted so-to-speak to your clients, colleagues, family, or group of people.

HOW - BECOME - ACHIEVE

Thoughts and feelings affect who we become and what we achieve: when we gain the power to change them, we gain the power to change our circumstances, our health, and our life’s purpose, we gain the power to choose HOW you wish to experience the world.

PATTERN RECOGNITION - PATTERN UTILIZATION - PATTERN CREATION

Whether you’re a people helper (practitioner, coach) or managing /leading people,
learning how to Generate a State (Feel a Feeling by Choice®) is for You!

Why? Because it is not just an ADVANCED Skill but it is CONCEPTUAL meaning you can use it in a way that is good for you at whatever you do that you can do better.

PRACTITIONER - LEADER - PEOPLE HELPER

Feelfulness is one of the most advanced skills to acquire and to master and once practiced enough number of times, it has become an automatic habit for me and for everyone I taught this as a SKILL.

Effortlessly generating states for your clients begins  with mastering generating states for yourself first, having a clear discernment over the similarities and differences over the flavors (gradients) between various states of being.

THERAPEUTIC - PEAK PERFORMANCE - MASTERY

Once mastered, your generated state can be made available or transferred to your client or an audience (colleagues, family, or group of people).

This is the reason why is necessary to increase your acuity, perfecting your detached observation skills, for when and if, you get to the negative patterns, you will already have the skill to neutralize the undesired emotional reaction and to choose your appropriate response by Generating a State.

This is the secret to Mastery!

Lead singers do this very well, but they do not focus on projecting their state unto the audience, instead they focus on presenting their Mastery;  they allow themselves to feel the feeling of, to "swim" in their mastery while performing, and this is how they have their fans “under their spell.”

It's not a "spell," it's FEELFULNESS!
